NCERT Class 7 Science
Class 7 Science: Curiosity chapter-wise practice
Curiosity is built around small experiments and questions like "what do you think will happen?". Each chapter here starts with a hands-on activity, such as separating mixtures or sorting materials, followed by questions that check the idea and not just the definition.
- 12 chapters

Chapter 1 The Ever-Evolving World of Science
Begin Class 7 science as a journey of curiosity, experiments and responsible discovery. This opening chapter previews the year and trains you to ask thoughtful questions, not just chase answers.
Topics: Curiosity takes flight, Science as a process, Activities and responsibility, Interconnected fields, Year-long chapter journey, Question the answer
-
Chapter 2 Exploring Substances: Acidic, Basic, and Neutral
Explore acids, bases and neutral substances through litmus, rose, turmeric and odour indicators. Then use neutralisation to explain ant-bite remedies, soil treatment and safer handling of wastes.
Topics: Litmus and indicators, Acidic substances, Basic substances, Neutral substances, Flower and turmeric indicators, Olfactory indicators, Neutralisation reaction, Everyday neutralisation
-
Chapter 3 Electricity: Circuits and their Components
Build safe battery circuits with cells, lamps, LEDs, switches and standard symbols. Learn why a complete conducting path is needed and why insulators protect us from electric shock.
Topics: Uses and safety of electricity, Electric cells and batteries, Lamps and LEDs, Complete electrical circuit, Switches and open circuits, Circuit diagrams and symbols, Conductors and insulators, Fault finding and safe choices
-
Chapter 4 The World of Metals and Non-metals
Compare metals and non-metals through malleability, ductility, sonority and conduction. Use rusting, burning magnesium and sulfur to link material properties with real uses and care of metals.
Topics: Metallic lustre and hardness, Malleability and ductility, Sonority and heat conduction, Electrical conduction, Rusting and corrosion, Oxides of metals and non-metals, Uses of metals and non-metals
-
Chapter 5 Changes Around Us: Physical and Chemical
Classify changes around you as physical or chemical using evidence such as new substances, reversibility and energy changes. Study lime water tests, combustion, candles, rusting, weathering and erosion.
Topics: Observing changes, Physical changes, Chemical changes and reactions, Carbon dioxide tests, Combustion and fire triangle, Mixed and reversible changes, Desirable and undesirable changes, Weathering and erosion
-
Chapter 6 Adolescence: A Stage of Growth and Change
Understand adolescence as a normal stage of growth with physical, emotional and behavioural changes. Learn how nutrition, hygiene, exercise, respectful relationships, safety online and saying no to harmful substances support health.
Topics: Life stages and adolescence, Physical growth and variation, Puberty and secondary sexual characteristics, Menstruation and reproductive health, Emotional and behavioural changes, Nutrition and activity, Hygiene and respectful social life, Harmful substances and hormones
-
Chapter 7 Heat Transfer in Nature
Explore how heat moves by conduction, convection and radiation, then connect these ideas to breezes, clothing, houses, the water cycle and groundwater.
Topics: Conduction in solids, Conductors and insulators, Convection in fluids, Land and sea breezes, Radiation and everyday heating, Water cycle, Infiltration, aquifers and conservation
-
Chapter 8 Measurement of Time and Motion
Measure time with repeating events, use pendulums and clocks, calculate speed, distance and time, and distinguish uniform from non-uniform linear motion.
Topics: Timekeeping devices, Simple pendulum, Units and clock readings, Speed and units, Using speed formulas, Uniform and non-uniform motion
-
Chapter 9 Life Processes in Animals
Trace digestion and breathing in humans and other animals, from saliva and intestines to alveoli, respiration, gills, lungs and moist skin.
Topics: Life processes and alimentary canal, Mouth, saliva, food pipe and stomach, Small and large intestines, Different animal digestion, Breathing organs and mechanism, Gas exchange and respiration, Breathing adaptations and health
-
Chapter 10 Life Processes in Plants
Find how plants make food by photosynthesis, exchange gases through stomata, move water and food through tubes, and respire for energy.
Topics: Needs for plant growth, Leaves, chlorophyll and starch, Photosynthesis inputs and products, Stomata and gas exchange, Transport in plants, Respiration in plants
-
Chapter 11 Light: Shadows and Reflections
Study light sources, straight-line travel of light, materials and shadows, reflection in plane mirrors, pinhole images, periscopes and kaleidoscopes.
Topics: Sources of light, Light travels in straight lines, Transparent, translucent and opaque, Shadow formation, Reflection and plane mirrors, Pinhole camera, Useful mirror devices
-
Chapter 12 Earth, Moon, and the Sun
Use models of Earth, Moon and Sun to explain day and night, apparent sky motion, seasons, solar and lunar eclipses, and safe eclipse viewing.
Topics: Earth's rotation and apparent motion, Day and night, Pole Star and star trails, Earth's revolution, Seasons and Earth's tilt, Solar eclipse and safe viewing, Lunar eclipse
Where does the study time go?
Middle school days are long. Six subjects, projects, the commute and often tuition in the evening. Children spend plenty of hours on studies but get very little quiet time to study on their own, and a gap in one chapter quietly carries over into the next.
Tuition is fine, and plenty of children need it. But a tutor with eight or ten children in one batch cannot sit with each of them, and cannot always keep track of what the school did that week. Sometimes the tuition follows its own order of chapters, the child ends up juggling two plans for the same subject, and the confusion shows up in the next test.
NoTuition.in gives that small window some shape: the chapter your child is doing in school, a short activity, practice that explains every mistake, and a clear view for you of what needs work.

The free plan opens one full chapter in every subject, so you can see how your child gets on before you pay anything.
